Xi'an, January 1 (Xinhua) - At midnight on New Year's Day in 2024, accompanied by the melodious whistle, the first China Europe freight train (Xi'an) departed from Xi'an

International Port Station and headed west towards Russia.

It is understood that the China Europe freight train, loaded with 55 containers of paper plastic aluminum composite materials and general merchandise, departed from

Xi'an International Port Station, passed through Alashankou Port, and finally arrived in Moscow, Russia. This "cross-border journey" is about 7206 kilometers, with a total

travel time of 13 days.

Yuan Xiaojun, General Manager of Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co., Ltd., introduced that the 2024 New Year's Train is a high-quality New Year's Train

operated by the Xi'an Chanba International Port Management Committee and the Russian National Railway Company to Moscow. It is also a model of China Europe Railway

(Xi'an) providing an outward oriented international logistics channel for production and trade enterprises.

In the past 10 years, the China Europe Express (Xi'an) has adhered to high-quality, market-oriented, and sustainable operation, operating 17 international trunk lines on a

regular basis, covering the entire Eurasian continent. The "+Western Europe" assembly line has reached 22, and the country's first domestic and international full schedule

special train has been launched. It is the first in the country to achieve full train assembly, direct loading upon arrival, and port area integration, and is the first to achieve

customs and railway data connectivity, The first pilot implementation of tax refund for land port of departure in China has been effective.

In 2023, the China Europe Express (Xi'an) operated 5351 trains throughout the year, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%. Since the opening of the China Europe freight train

(Xi'an) on November 28, 2013, a total of 21405 trains have been operated, with core indicators such as operating volume, heavy container rate, and freight volume ranking

first in the country. Xi'an has become the first city in the country to exceed 5000 annual China Europe freight trains and over 20000 cumulative trains, and is accelerating

the construction of a world-class inland port.

Yang Bing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Xi'an Chanba International Port, stated that Xi'an Chanba

International Port will accelerate cooperation with overseas service providers such as the Russian National Railway Company and Kazakhstan Railway Company, providing

more enterprises with more efficient, low-cost, and better service international trade channels.
